mantra

Mantras are transformative and powerful vibrations. They may appear to be just sounds or words or syllables, but when chanted they activate centres in the brain, chakras, energy fields and create transformation in our life. Mantra Japa means repetition of mantra, usually repeated for 108 times, which is called a mala. The use of mala beads helps with the counting. It is helpful to consult with a spiritual teacher before embarking on the practice of a mantra. This helps with getting the exact pronunciation and the recommended practice routine.

mala beads

The reason I have included the mantras on this page is because they are very common and used a lot in kirtan. So it is helpful to learn them for this purpose.
